2016 Bathroom Trends

As the New Year approaches, homeowners begin to look at making modifications in their homes. Updating the bathroom is a great way to make a small change that creates a dramatic effect. In regards to design, transitional and contemporary continue to lead the path. 

I did a bit of research to find out the top trends for 2016 and came across the following ideas to produce that desired space. 

• Create a Focal Point. This is a common theme in all design and fashion. The objective is to find that one inspirational piece and design the space around it. Freestanding tubs with floor tub fillers are becoming a popular selection in bathrooms, especially in the master bathrooms. In your guest bathrooms, a unique sink or a statement mirror would be an excellent choice. Long gone are the days of the plain wall mirror with many distinctive options now available.
  
• Metals. Metallics are popping up in interior design and a great option of bringing in the metals is by updating your plumbing fixtures or changing out your cabinet knobs. Copper sinks are also making their way from kitchens to the bathrooms.
  
• Spa Design with Modern Flair. Most people enjoy the serene space at the spa so of course it makes sense that would start to appear in homes. Walk-in showers help create that spa-like luxury while giving the space a designer feel. The spa style can be brought into a room with your choice of tile and flooring, a popular choice is the wood-look tile and small mosaics.
  
• Technology. Technology is finding its way into almost every room in the home. There is new water saving "smart" showers that are Bluetooth enabled and connect to the internet. Kohler offers an advanced showering system that brings water, sound, steam and light into the space with its DTV+ Digital system.

2016 Kitchen Trends

The kitchen is typically the focus in everyone's home. It is where the family gathers to enjoy delectable food and the comfort of one another's companionship. I did some research to find out the top trends for 2016. Color, Bold Fixtures and Functionality top the list. 

Color is a hot topic when it comes to planning your kitchen design. White continues to be a trend in the kitchen, but according to HGTV, gray is the shade they are betting on to break the top spot for cabinet color. New shades in sinks are popping up in the market, making a great option to place in color in an otherwise neutral based space. 

Caesarstone has recently introduced new colors in their quartz countertops. Quartz is nonporous and resistant to heat, spills and scratches creating the perfect option for long lasting and durable counter spaces. Wood has also begun to be introduced again as an option for countertop material. 

Bold furniture creates a dramatic composition. The addition of large lighting fixtures, especially in a space with low ceilings, provides a focal point. Contrasting colors from a very light spectrum to dark offer balance. 

Automation has come a long way in the kitchen from hands-free faucets to sensor-activated lights. Built-in charging stations and tablet holders add a new tech perspective feature. 

Functional design has improved in cabinetry providing more organized storage, which can be very efficient especially for those with limited space.

Naples Square Phase II

BCBE Construction LLC is nearing completion of Phase I of the residences at Naples Square, located at 5th Avenue South and Goodlette-Frank Road. Copperleaf Golf Club Renovations Complete

BCBE Construction LLC, a general contractor in Southwest Florida, has completed Copperleaf Golf Club's amenity renovations. The recreational facility renovation included a new activities building/fitness center, a new pool side cafe and dining area, new bocce courts, a renovated pool and spa, new shaded tennis viewing area, a new golf cart staging area and new entry structures. The guard house was renovated to include covered drive lanes and refreshed monument signs and surrounding landscape areas.

The new poolside cafe features a full kitchen that caters to the bocce and poolside dining guests. The new 3,500 square foot fitness center includes an exercise room, men's and women's locker rooms, an aerobics studio and a meeting room. The new facility offers convenience and state of the art equipment for Copperleaf home owners.

Building Custom Homes With Solar Panels

Many of the custom homes that BCBE Construction LLC has built have installed solar panels. Solar panel refers to a panel designed to absorb the sun's rays as a source of energy for generating electricity or heating.

A photovoltaic module is a packaged, connected assembly of typically 6x10 solar cells. Solar photovoltaic panels constitute the solar array of a photovoltaic system that generates and supplies solar electricity in residential applications.

Fortune Magazine says the global market for solar panels is expected to soar to a record high in the first half of 2016 because of strong demand as well as favorable policies in the United States and China. Currently, in the U.S., 22.7 gigawatts of solar panels are in operation. However at the end of 2016, the U.S. will reduce an important 30% tax credit for customers to 10%. Overall, the market for solar panels is expected to continue to grow globally beyond 2017. As the cost of installing and making solar panels continues to drop, the technology will increasingly be more attractive to customers as an alternative to fossil fuel-based energy.
